Product description

The ZEN serving and cutting board in the Wood finish impresses as a cutting board with a clean, modern design language and a pleasantly tactile feel. Crafted from oak in size L, it offers ample space for bread, rolls, cheese, or antipasti and looks great both when preparing food and when serving it in style. The carefully crafted grooves reliably catch crumbs, while the reversed side with a subtly raised edge transforms the board into an elegant serving tray.

Designed by David Meier, ZEN follows a reduced, geometric design approach that conveys calm and precision. The natural grain of the wood also gives the board warmth and a premium look that blends effortlessly into modern kitchens and well-set tables.

This makes ZEN a versatile everyday companion that combines function and design in a convincing way. Together with the other elements in the series, it creates a harmonious overall impression that stylishly brings together clean lines and timeless restraint.

About

German designer David Meier (born 1990) is the driving force behind studiomeiid, which he founded in 2019. With a solid foundation in technical model making, as well as a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Industrial Design, he is known for his uncompromising aesthetic vision and for products that effortlessly merge a high degree of functionality with a strong visual direction. As a charming add-on, the young designer has never been afraid of the playful and humorous, taking it as a compliment if a product of him also puts a smile on your face. The Palua tray was the first product by David Meier for blomus.

Care Instruction:

Care of solid, untreated oak: If the product is to be used with food we highly recommend treating the wood with oil. This protects the wood from discolouring and ensures that food odours and bacteria do not stick to the wood surface. We recommend sunflower oil for this purpose. The serving trays can be rinsed with warm water. However it is not recommended to soak them in water as this may lead to cracks in the wood.
