Product description

The NAGOMI chair in Oak Oiled brings the calm warmth of neutral wood into the dining room, kitchen, or living area, combining a natural presence with modern comfort. With a height of 74 cm and crafted from high-quality plywood, it offers a pleasantly stable yet lightweight seating solution for everyday use.

The gently shaped seat and slightly reclined backrest support relaxed sitting — ideal for long conversations at the dining table, focused work, or stylish moments in daily life. The oiled oak finish subtly highlights the wood grain and lends the room a warm, organic touch without being intrusive.

Designed by Kazushige Miyake, NAGOMI stands for Japanese-inspired clarity, harmonious proportions, and a pared-back design language with a tangible sense of refinement. Rounded edges and flowing lines make the design especially inviting and elegant.

As part of the NAGOMI series, the chair integrates effortlessly into a wide range of interior concepts while making a quiet, high-quality design statement.

Designer: Kazushige Miyake

About

Japanese designer Kazushige Miyake (b. 1973) graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo with a specialization in design. He then began his career as a product designer in Great Britain before returning to Japan in 1999.

In 2005, he founded his own design studio. Today, Miyake Design is synonymous with clear and functional product design, from lounge chairs to suitcases, always with the discerning consumer in mind. Miyake favors simplicity and straightforwardness in his designs, and believes that every object has its own form. 

This form is not limited to its physical presence, but also includes the aura or atmosphere that surrounds the object and its effect on those who use it.

Kazushige Miyake has received a number of prestigious design awards, including the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award. Today, he is a member of the evaluation committees for both the Good Design Award and the iF Design Award.
