Description du produit

Alors que les bulles d'air dans le dôme en verre du luminaire IRIS, créé par le designer Sebastian Herkner, rappellent des mondes sous-marins, le nouveau IRIS en albâtre reflète la texture distincte de la surface de la lune. Les deux luminaires inspirent, chacun à leur manière unique, la sensation d'apesanteur. L'albâtre est un minéral de couleur crème, rappelant la matérialité du marbre. La pierre est translucide et est illuminée de l'intérieur par la source lumineuse intégrée, donnant l'impression de regarder un pleine lune. Comme l'albâtre est une pierre naturelle, chaque pièce est unique et diffère par son grain et sa structure, tout comme la surface de la lune, qui paraît différente sous chaque angle.

Contrairement à la petite version, l'interrupteur est proéminent et possède un bouton rotatif strié. Le moletage en diamant donne une touche tactile et rompt le design épuré de la base en aluminium. Les fonctions des lumières sont les mêmes, permettant de tamiser les trois couleurs de lumière selon les besoins.

À propos

German Sebastian Herkner (born 1981) pursued Product Design at HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. During this time, he honed his flair for materials, colours and textures, with a growing focus on designing furniture and objects. A brief stint at Stella McCartney in London added to his experience.

In 2006, Herkner established a studio in his own name. Since then, he's created furniture, lighting and smaller pieces for global brands, as well as undertaking interior architecture projects and museum and exhibition design. His remarkable work has garnered numerous awards, including the IF Award, the Iconic Award and the Elle Deco International Design Award (EDIDA).

Herkner was the Guest of Honour at imm cologne 2016, where he shaped the exhibition ‘Das Haus’. In 2019, Maison&Objet named him Designer of the Year, and in 2021 he clinched Milan's most prestigious design accolade, the EDIDA award for Best Designer of the Year. In 2022, he curated alongside luminaries like Robert Wilson, Judith Clarke, Michele de Lucchi and Naoto Fukasawa at Homo Faber, commissioned by the Michelangelo Foundation in Venice.
