The SABLO dessert plate in the color Cloud brings calm, natural elegance to the table. With a diameter of 21 cm, the dessert plate is ideal for cakes, pastries, small starters, or carefully arranged desserts.
Made from high-quality ceramic, it impresses with a distinctive material effect that is both visible and tangible. The fine, slightly irregular surface and the soft nuance of gray and beige tones give every setting a subtle, artisanal look. Partially glazed areas provide a pleasant feel and make the plate suitable for everyday use—including the dishwasher and microwave.
SABLO was designed by Frederike Martens, whose concept creates a harmonious interplay of soft shapes, natural textures, and modern restraint. This makes the plate look especially refined on its own, while also allowing it to be combined in versatile ways.
Thanks to the characteristic variations in color and texture, each piece becomes a small one-of-a-kind item. Paired with other items from the SABLO series, it creates a stylish table setting with a calm, authentic presence.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.

Our SABLO series is made of high-quality stoneware, with different colors that can be beautifully combined with one another.
Stoneware is made from clay, quartz, or minerals such as calcite and belongs to the group of ceramic products. Typical items made from stoneware include plates, bowls, planters, and dishes, which are shaped through a casting process and fired at very high temperatures ranging from about 970 to 1320 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this intense firing process, stoneware is more durable than regular clay and less translucent than porcelain. The final colors are strongly influenced by the firing temperature and duration, giving each piece its own individual structure and unique shading.
Since stoneware is not naturally waterproof, it is usually glazed. This makes it stable, durable, and perfectly suitable for everyday use – as is the case with our SABLO products. However, slight cutlery marks may appear on stoneware items over time. This is not a defect but a completely natural process, as the glaze is fired at a lower temperature than the ceramic body underneath.
Our SABLO tableware is dishwasher safe and can also be used in the microwave.
