Further Information

Care Instruction:

For our new napkins, table runners and table cloth we use linen as the material of choice. Linen is a textile made from the fibres of the flax plant. Long fibre flax, predominantly used in textile industries, mainly grows in Europe. After harvesting, the plants are dried, and the seeds are removed and the fibres are loosened from the stalk. Linen is very robust but not very stretchable. The flax fabric is comprehensively liked as a summer textile and due to its ecological, smooth-to-the-skin and natural hygienic asset, linen is ideal for allergic people.

Advantages:
• Cooling and comfortable look-and-feel
• Very robust and tear-resistant
• Naturally antibacterial, dust and dirt repellent
• Highly suitable for allergic people
• Ecological cultivation

General Care information
• Linen is boil-proof but may lose its shape while hot washed in a washing machine. Please always follow the care instructions on the product.
• Since linen is sensitive to abrasion, linen fabrics should be washed separately, or using the gentle/delicate cycle menu when machine washed. Refrain from scrubbing and clean the fabrics with only compression and pressing.
• Do not Spin-dry the linen too long or too heavily. Linen needs a certain amount of residual moisture. Hang the fabric over a cloth-line or a cloths drying rack and smooth it out. Linen fabrics let moisture escape quickly and will dry in a short period of time.
• Linen can withstand high temperatures while ironing, however no dry heat: the linen should be slightly moist while ironing. To avoid spots please always iron linen inside out. A good alternative to ironing is cold mangling of the fabric.
• Linen is unsuitable for dryers. When “over drying” linen fabric the same can shrink. Ideally dry the fabric in places with higher humidity (bathroom, laundry room).
• Linen is very sensitive to bleach and should not be bleached or coloured! The fibres will lose capacity and can get very thin and breakable.
