Product description

Inspired by the simplicity and elegance of nature, NAGOMI embodies the essence of harmony and comfort.
NAGOMI is made of high-quality plywood, with gently curved lines and rounded edges that convey a calming aesthetic. The backrest is slightly inclined, while the seat is generously dimensioned to allow for relaxed sitting. The surface of the chair is flawless and shows the natural grain of the wood, giving the chair an organic and warm appearance. The seat feels comfortable and inviting. The simple elegance of the design blends seamlessly into any setting and becomes the centerpiece of any interior.
This design by Japanese designer Kazushige Miyake, consisting of four simply curved high-quality plywood pieces with an FSC certification for sustainable origin, embodies not only style but also a sense of responsibility. The wood has its origin in Croatia and is sourced from forests within a 90 km radius of the Croatian factory. During production, it is taken care to ensure that little material waste is produced and that the surplus material is processed into wooden pallets. The factory is also equipped with solar panels so that production is almost climate-neutral.

Designer: Kazushige Miyake

About

Japanese designer Kazushige Miyake (b. 1973) graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo with a specialization in design. He then began his career as a product designer in Great Britain before returning to Japan in 1999.

In 2005, he founded his own design studio. Today, Miyake Design is synonymous with clear and functional product design, from lounge chairs to suitcases, always with the discerning consumer in mind. Miyake favors simplicity and straightforwardness in his designs, and believes that every object has its own form. 

This form is not limited to its physical presence, but also includes the aura or atmosphere that surrounds the object and its effect on those who use it.

Kazushige Miyake has received a number of prestigious design awards, including the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award. Today, he is a member of the evaluation committees for both the Good Design Award and the iF Design Award.

Avoid potential damage by wiping up spillages immediately to prevent warping or staining.
