The SABLO dinner plate in Stone brings a stylish yet pleasantly understated touch to the table with its calm natural Stone color and classic dinner plate format. Made from high-quality ceramic, it impresses both in everyday use and on special occasions: Its sturdy design is ideal for main courses, while the finely textured surface presents food in a particularly natural way.
The subtle blend of gray and beige tones gives each plate its own distinct character. Partially glazed areas create an appealing contrast between smooth and matte sections, which is visible as well as tangible. Since color gradients and textures vary due to the manufacturing process, each piece is unique and has a handcrafted feel. Practical for everyday use, the plate is also dishwasher- and microwave-safe.
Designed by Frederike Martens, SABLO combines clear shapes with an organic, almost landscape-like look. The dinner plate can be harmoniously combined with other pieces in the series, creating a cohesive overall look for modern tableware culture.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.

Our SABLO series is made of high-quality stoneware, with different colors that can be beautifully combined with one another.
Stoneware is made from clay, quartz, or minerals such as calcite and belongs to the group of ceramic products. Typical items made from stoneware include plates, bowls, planters, and dishes, which are shaped through a casting process and fired at very high temperatures ranging from about 970 to 1320 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this intense firing process, stoneware is more durable than regular clay and less translucent than porcelain. The final colors are strongly influenced by the firing temperature and duration, giving each piece its own individual structure and unique shading.
Since stoneware is not naturally waterproof, it is usually glazed. This makes it stable, durable, and perfectly suitable for everyday use – as is the case with our SABLO products. However, slight cutlery marks may appear on stoneware items over time. This is not a defect but a completely natural process, as the glaze is fired at a lower temperature than the ceramic body underneath.
Our SABLO tableware is dishwasher safe and can also be used in the microwave.
