The 2-piece SABLO teacup set in the color Stone brings a calm, natural aesthetic to the table. Each teacup holds 250 ml and is ideal for the first tea of the morning, a relaxing afternoon break, or stylish moments of enjoyment with guests.
Made from high-quality stoneware, the cups impress with a pleasant feel and a distinctive surface. The subtle stone look in shades of gray and beige feels warm, understated, and especially refined. Partially glazed areas create delicate contrasts and make each piece unique through slight variations in texture and color. For everyday use, the cups are especially practical, as they are dishwasher- and microwave-safe.
SABLO was designed by Frederike Martens, who combines a consciously pared-back design with a handcrafted feel in this series. The shape language remains clean and modern, while the material and surface give the tableware a lively depth.
As part of the SABLO series, the cups can be harmoniously combined with plates, bowls, and other tableware pieces.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.

Our SABLO series is made of high-quality stoneware, with different colors that can be beautifully combined with one another.
Stoneware is made from clay, quartz, or minerals such as calcite and belongs to the group of ceramic products. Typical items made from stoneware include plates, bowls, planters, and dishes, which are shaped through a casting process and fired at very high temperatures ranging from about 970 to 1320 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this intense firing process, stoneware is more durable than regular clay and less translucent than porcelain. The final colors are strongly influenced by the firing temperature and duration, giving each piece its own individual structure and unique shading.
Since stoneware is not naturally waterproof, it is usually glazed. This makes it stable, durable, and perfectly suitable for everyday use – as is the case with our SABLO products. However, slight cutlery marks may appear on stoneware items over time. This is not a defect but a completely natural process, as the glaze is fired at a lower temperature than the ceramic body underneath.
Our SABLO tableware is dishwasher safe and can also be used in the microwave.
