The 1-seater GROVA module in Amber Brown stylishly brings the relaxed comfort of an outdoor lounge to your terrace, balcony, or garden. The warm, natural shade gives outdoor areas a calm, inviting atmosphere and can be combined in versatile ways with a wide range of surroundings.

Made from high-quality synthetic fiber, the module is designed for outdoor use and combines a pleasant feel with durable properties. The softly padded seat, together with the gently shaped backrest, ensures relaxed sitting, while the dimensionally stable design delivers convincing comfort even with regular use. The result is a seat that is just as suitable for a short break in the sun as it is for long, sociable evenings outdoors.

Designed by Kazushige Miyake, GROVA stands for a clear, modern design language that radiates calm while making a strong design statement. Its cubic silhouette looks pared back, homely, and deliberately timeless—with the aim of bringing familiar indoor comfort outside.

As part of the GROVA series, the 1-seater module can be used on its own or combined flexibly with other elements to create a customized, adaptable seating landscape.

Designer: Kazushige Miyake

About

Japanese designer Kazushige Miyake (b. 1973) graduated from Tama Art University in Tokyo with a specialization in design. He then began his career as a product designer in Great Britain before returning to Japan in 1999.

In 2005, he founded his own design studio. Today, Miyake Design is synonymous with clear and functional product design, from lounge chairs to suitcases, always with the discerning consumer in mind. Miyake favors simplicity and straightforwardness in his designs, and believes that every object has its own form.

This form is not limited to its physical presence, but also includes the aura or atmosphere that surrounds the object and its effect on those who use it.

Kazushige Miyake has received a number of prestigious design awards, including the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award. Today, he is a member of the evaluation committees for both the Good Design Award and the iF Design Award.

Care Instruction:

For the care of your GROVA seating and lounge furniture, we recommend cleaning the modules regularly and gently brushing off any loose dirt. Stains are best removed using a soft, damp cloth and cold to lukewarm water (maximum 38 °C). Carefully dab the affected areas rather than rubbing, in order to avoid damaging the material. Excess moisture should then be absorbed with a dry cloth. Please allow your GROVA furniture to air dry only and avoid exposing the fabric to strong heat.

The cushion covers are machine washable at 30 °C. Before washing, the filling should be carefully removed through the zipper. Please note that the module covers are not machine washable.

For optimal care of your GROVA furniture collection and cushions, we also offer our MEDA cleaning and care products for outdoor textiles (31058, 31059). Stains and unpleasant odors can be easily removed with the MEDA cleaner. After cleaning, we recommend applying the MEDA waterproofing spray, which helps maintain the original water- and dirt-repellent properties of the outdoor fabric. In particular, the seams—subject to greater wear through use—are protected from moisture penetration. With regular care, your GROVA products remain resistant to various weather conditions, mold formation is prevented, and durability is extended over the long term.
