The CEOLA floor vase in Black brings a distinctive yet calm presence to your living space with its 63 cm height. As a beautifully shaped ceramic piece, it showcases large branches, dried flowers, or simply its own character to striking effect.
Typical of Frederike Martens’ design is the lively surface: fine grooves, small inclusions, and slight irregularities give the vase an artisanal feel that is intentionally not highly polished. The semi-matte, reactive glaze creates subtle depth in the Black finish and makes each piece unique. Its appearance is inspired by traditional Japanese glazing techniques and combines naturalness with modern restraint.
Thanks to its slim, tall silhouette, the vase looks especially elegant in entryways, next to the sofa, or on the floor beside furniture with clean lines. This creates a stylish accent that enhances rooms without being obtrusive. As part of the CEOLA series, the floor vase blends harmoniously into a timeless decorative overall look.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.
