The CEOLA floor vase in Black brings a striking yet serene presence to the living space at 63 cm tall. As a beautifully shaped ceramic object, it showcases large branches, dried flowers, or simply its own character to great effect.
Characteristic of Frederike Martens’ design is the lively surface: fine grooves, small inclusions, and slight irregularities give the vase a handcrafted feel that is intentionally not overly polished. The semi-matte, reactive glaze creates subtle depth in the Black finish and makes each piece unique. Its look is inspired by traditional Japanese glazing techniques and combines naturalness with modern restraint.
With its slender, tall silhouette, the vase looks especially elegant in entryways, next to the sofa, or on the floor beside furniture with clean lines. The result is a stylish accent that enhances rooms without being intrusive. As part of the CEOLA series, the floor vase blends harmoniously into a timeless, decorative overall look.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.
