The side plate -SABLO- in the color Stone brings a calm, natural elegance to the table setting. With its 14 cm diameter, the side plate is ideal for bread, small starters, tapas, desserts, or delicate side dishes, and adds style to both everyday meals and special dinner moments.
Made from high-quality ceramic, it impresses with a pleasant feel and a distinctive surface in soft shades of gray and beige. The partial glazing creates an exciting interplay of smooth and more matte areas, while subtle color variations make each piece feel unique. Practical in use: the plate is dishwasher- and microwave-safe, making it as convenient as it is beautiful.
Designed by Frederike Martens, SABLO combines a handcrafted feel with modern restraint. The design is intentionally minimalist without appearing cold, presenting food in a subtle yet impactful way.
As part of the SABLO series, the small plate can be harmoniously combined with other plates, bowls, and tableware pieces—for a cohesive table setting with a natural character.

About
Trained as an industrial designer with a particular emphasis on glass and ceramics at the Design School in Halle, Germany, Frederike Martens (born 1987) has a rare talent for pure and strikingly simple shapes, and a preference for colours that will stand the test of time. With her impeccable sense of balance and proportion, Frederike work displays a special sensitivity to how materials work, both alone and together. However, for the young designer the practical usability of any given item is equally important. The Sablo tableware line, comprising 18 distinct items, was her first design project for blomus – and has now been followed up by the Ceola vase.

Our SABLO series is made of high-quality stoneware, with different colors that can be beautifully combined with one another.
Stoneware is made from clay, quartz, or minerals such as calcite and belongs to the group of ceramic products. Typical items made from stoneware include plates, bowls, planters, and dishes, which are shaped through a casting process and fired at very high temperatures ranging from about 970 to 1320 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this intense firing process, stoneware is more durable than regular clay and less translucent than porcelain. The final colors are strongly influenced by the firing temperature and duration, giving each piece its own individual structure and unique shading.
Since stoneware is not naturally waterproof, it is usually glazed. This makes it stable, durable, and perfectly suitable for everyday use – as is the case with our SABLO products. However, slight cutlery marks may appear on stoneware items over time. This is not a defect but a completely natural process, as the glaze is fired at a lower temperature than the ceramic body underneath.
Our SABLO tableware is dishwasher safe and can also be used in the microwave.
